Ever since GDM started in 1981 has events formed an important part of business. It started with equestrianism and various business gimmicks. A very fun trip where among other things one of the largest festivals in Sweden provided an important piece of the puzzle to create experiences.
Pingsttävlingarna Strömsholm
Strömsholm, one of the most beautiful places In Sweden, had and has a fundamental importance to the development of the Swedish equestrian sport. Among horse people in Europe Strömsholm has a special connotation. One major reason is of course the nature and history that characterize the site. Every year since the early 1900s , there has been Pentecost Races in Strömsholm. During more than 10 years from the mid 80's GDM was responsible for all sponsorship and exhibition activities during Pentecost races in Strömsholm. Gunnar Dalborg also served as assistant tournament director during that time. Nowadays, the competitions is permed to the days around June 6, the Swedish National Day and is called The National Day Competitions with both dressage, jumping and eventing.
Svenskt Grand National
Arosfestivalen
Between 1994 and 2000, GDM was half owner of Arosfestivalen which at the time was Sweden's fourth biggest city festival. Gunnar Dalborg served as festival director and the overall impression was a festival for all ages and all cultures. No entrance fees, stable economy, and very few regime intervention. From several scenes were all from the basement tapes (where some of our now famous artists were) to full symphony orchestra with among Tchaikowskys 1812 along with City Hall's carillon and the yacht club guns. It also did the famous Wallman salons premiere and success outside security in Stockholm and the engineers at ABB competed in boat races on Svartå river with improbable craft. In The Art Museum there was the piano relay where the festival general each year got to play four hand piano with beloved Swedish pianists, both classical and jazz. Yes, say the Swedish artist who didn't visit the festival during these years.
Carolus Rex
In September 2009, succeeded the former Swedish army general Ake Sagrén along with the non-profit Carolus Rex Revivat do about Charles's XII long ride in 1714 after the Skirmish at Bender. Around eighty people and 27 horses completed the ride for 14 days between Pitesti in Romania and Stralsund in Northern Germany and equaled Charles's bravado. After the stop in Stralsund returned Society to Sweden by mail hunt deer, a copy of the 1600's of the ship. GDM served as sponsorship manager.
Stockholm International Horseshow
GDM was involved from the beginning as head for sponsorship and exhibition when the Stockholm International Horse Show started in 1994 and the mission lasted for several years . The event has been the most important to Stockholm Globe Arena in well over a decade and is now so large that it moves to Stockholm Friends Arena in 2014.
The show's trademark, the winged horse Pegasus, always started the show and ridden by Kristina Dalborg the first years. Pegasus was a white approved connemara stallion named Dale Haze from Ireland and was owned by the family Dalborg.
